Fiji police say they have sacked another officer for insubordination.

A police spokeswoman has told the Fijivillage website that the officer, who had been recalled from Liberia, was dismissed.

Meanwhile, two senior police officers remain in custody on allegations of insubordination and are awaiting to be charged while two other senior officers who were suspended last month have now been sacked.

Police say the two officers now in custody are alleged to have committed the same offence as the two other senior officers whose jobs have been terminated.

The police have declined to reveal details of the allegations against these four officers.

The police force has been run for nearly three years now by a former deputy military commander, Commodore Esala Teleni.
