MV Sili back in American Samoa waters

2:27 pm on 26 April 2010

The American Samoa government's interisland vessel, MV Sili, has returned to the water for the first time in six months.

It had been dry-docked at the MYD Samoa shipyard.

The government vessel will now be docked at the port while work is done on final repairs to the vessel in preparation for its certification by the U.S. Coast Guard.

The certification would allow the vessel to begin servicing the Manu'a Islands again.

The vessel is expected to get its certification for seaworthiness from the US Coast Guard by May the 1st.
