Constitutional Convention in American Samoa gets a boost

Preparations for the upcoming Constitutional Convention in American Samoa is getting a boost in funding after the Governor, Togiola Tulafono, signed into law a 620 thousand US dollar supplemental appropriation bill.

The Convention is set to convene on June 21 for two weeks.

Togiola says the Constitutional Convention is in need of critical funding as it aims to utilise the latest technology and media to reach as many people as possible.

The supplemental appropriation will also direct 100 thousand dollars to Election Office for the November general election.
