Pacific trade ministers have ended a two-day meeeting in the Federated States of Micronesia to discuss liberalising trade within the region.
In a statement, the meeting's chair, Vice-President Alik Alik of the FSM, said they considered measures to address the challenges posed by the global financial crisis on their fragile developing economies.
He says as leaders of the region, it is their responsibility to come up with real solutions that will address the global challenges such as the impacts of climate change, food security, high energy cost and high level of unemployment.
