The Fiji Broadcasting Corporation says the interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, has warned public servants to stay away from politics or be swayed by political views.

The FBC says Commodore Bainimarama made the comment recently while addressing public servants in Gau.

He says public servants should follow public service rules, and stick to what needs to be done and accomplished.

Commodore Bainimarama says everyone who works for the government must know by now what the goals are for the nation until 2014.

He has urged public servants to build a better relationship with the people and focus on building a better Fiji.
