The American Samoa Government is canvassing departments to assess their use of technology and training needs.

Chief Information officer and Director of Information Technology, Asi Bruce, says the implementation of an enterprise wide technology program will affect every single government employee.

She says Governor Togiola Tulafono has plans to form a Department of Information Technology.

Asi Bruce says the Government wants to look at how to integrate technology to enhance services.

"One of the things we had today was a lot of our couture information, territory registrar, vital statistics, office of Samoan Affairs. A lot of our documents, our data is on paper, and as you know, with the tsunami, even man-made disasters, we're really at risk, of losing, not so much the paper, but our ancestral line, our culture."
