Samoa experienced a drop in earnings from tourism in the last financial year.
According to the Samoa Central Bank, revenue in the financial year 2009/2010 dropped by five percent over the previous year.
This happend despite a two-percent increase in visitor numbers but which was attributed to many arriving to assist with recovery efforts after last September's tsunami.
