Striking teachers at the Lata Community High School in Solomon Islands' Temotu province have returned to work, but have given 14 days notice to the
provincial government for another strike.
The teachers started their sit in protest on Monday and stopped it after deciding they should give a proper notice to the local education authority, which is the Temotu provincial government.
The teachers are demanding the payment of their housing allowances, which they claim had not been paid since 2004.
About 20 teachers from primary and secondary sections of the Lata Community High School are involved and about 300 students are affected.
The Temotu provincial government has yet to receive the teachers' strike notice.
