Fiji's interim prime minister says he is making it clear that Fiji will still have elections in 2014.

Commodore Frank Bainimarama has made the statement to Fiji Village following reports that villagers had told him they wanted the 2014 elections delayed as they are happy with the progress the country is making.

He also told Auckland's Radio Tarana last week that people supported what the government was doing and didn't want an election.

But Commodore Bainimarama has now told Fiji Village elections will be held in 2014 and is questioning where people have got the information that the government has delayed elections.
