The airline, Virgin Blue may cut its Fiji and Phuket routes and reduce the number of brands it flies from three to one.

The decisions have been revealed by the airline's new chief executive officer, John Borghetti, and could result from an overhaul of the airline's operations almost a month after his appointment.

Mr Borghetti told the Sydney Morning Herald that Virgin is likely to focus more on business travel and its loyalty program.

The newspaper says it's also likely to increase US services through its partnership with Delta Airlines when it completes its route review this month, and may consolidate its Virgin Blue, Pacific Blue and V Australia brands under the name Virgin Australia Airlines.
