Nauru people complaining of unfariness of political deadlock

12:54 pm on 10 June 2010

Nauru's Government Information Bureau says people are frustrated at a political deadlock that's allowed for 14 parliamentary sittings without the election of either a Speaker or President.

A spokesperson, Yvette Duburiya, says parliament sat again this morning but was adjourned by the clerk until Tuesday because there were no nominations for the position of Speaker.

She says people are upset that parliamentarians have failed to make any progress since the general elections seven weeks ago.
