The US Coast Guard has approved additional passengers for the MV Sili's trip to Manu'a in American Samoa this morning .

A port Administration official said the Coast Guard gave approval yesterday after inspecting additional life jackets and vests as well as a third life raft on board the MV Sili.

Seventy five passengers have been booked for this morning's trip, which is 11 more than the maximum number of passengers the vessel is authorized to carry.

Transportation to Manu'a was also eased yesterday when Inter Island Air resumed flights.

The airline's Dornier aircraft had been grounded in Apia with mechanical problems since Sunday.
