10:57 am on 21 June 2010

The Pacific community will have a chance to say how they will have input on New Zealand's new Auckland Super city council .

The Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs is holding four meetings aimed at informing people about a new panel that is being formed.

The Auckland Council's Pacific Peoples Advisory Panel will replace existing advisory boards, which currently make recommendations to councils.

The chief executive of the Ministry, Colin Tukuitonga, says two of the meetings will be with the existing advisory boards, elected Pacific councillors and community board members, and the other two will be with the wider community.

The Ministry wants to have its proposal ready by November the 1st, when the Super City is up and running.
