CNMI hosts Micronesian Chief Executives Summit

Leaders from different parts of the region have started arriving on Saipan for a Micronesian Chief Executives Summit to discuss common issues of concern.

Areas to be discussed include healthcare, recycling, regional tourism, the military buildup, airport improvements, and renewable energy.

The summit brings together three presidents and six governors in the Micronesian region.

The Micronesian Chief Executives Summit aims to consult on issues of mutual concerns, such as challenges involving the regional and international economy, the environment, regional response to the military buildup, U.S. federal policies, and labor and immigration.
