The Suva Magistrate Court has granted bail to two Fiji men who were charged for claiming that a disaster would strike Fiji.
The Fiji media report that the two, the Fiji Rugby union board chairman, Bill Gavoka, and Pastor Laione Lutunacevamaca, were charged with one count of malicious act under the Public Order Act.
They had said for several days that an earthquake and a tsunami would strike Fiji at 2.30pm on June the 23rd.
Some people believed that the two could predict the exact time of the tsunami and took precautions.
Mr Gavoka sent an email to tourism operators, saying they should take the suggestion seriously.
