More than 500 candidates will contest the Solomon Islands national general election.
The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission has released the final candidate list for the August 4 election.
It confirms 508 candidates will stand in 50 constitutencies.
That's a rise from the 453 candidates who stood in the 2006 election.
The Central Honiara constituency has the most candidates at 23, while Temotu Vatud in Temotu Province and West Kwara'ae in Malaita Province each have 18 candidates.
This year's election also sees 18 women candidates contesting.
Meanwhile, the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports a police operations centre with state of the art technology has been established to be command headquarters for the election.
The police say specially designed command vehicles have been provided by the Regional Assistance Mission for use throughout the election period.
