A federal judge in Honolulu has ruled in favour of the U.S. government in a civil suit brought by the American Samoan parents of a baby who died in a customs office at Honolulu International Airport two years ago.
14-day old baby, Michael Futi, had traveled to Honolulu with his mother and a nurse for heart treatment at Kapiolani Hospital.
The parents claimed that custom officials were responsible for the death after they had detained the trio at the airport.
But U.S. District Court Judge, Michael Seabright, ruled that the parents failed to prove negligence.
