8:33 am on 31 July 2010

The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary will for the first time in its history receive two specialist sniffer dogs specifically bred and trained in Australia in the areas of firearms and explosive detection.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Public Safety Division Jim Andrews says three policemen completed a 14 week Course in Australia and will return with the dogs today.

He says the acquisition of these two specialist dogs from Australia is a milestone achievement for the Constabulary.
