Samoa health chief denies wrongdoing

Samoa's Public Service Commission is investigating allegations of abuse of power by the National Health Service general manager, Dr Stanley Dean.

Dr Dean has been suspended while the PSC carries out an inquiry.

Dr Dean has told the Samoa Observer newspaper he doesn't deserve this kind of treatment and is unclear on the reasons for his suspension.

He says his hard work has never been acknowledged.

Meanwhile the PSC is reported to not be willing to release details, saying this would jeopardise the investigation.
