American Samoa's international airport to undergo upgrade

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded American Samoa four point four million US dollars to rehabilitate the taxiway at Pago Pago International Airport.

The Governor Togiola Tulafono says the fund will make major improvements that will enhance the safety of aircraft operations and help it meet FAA airport design standards.

Togiola says its a priority to keep the flying public safe and these funds will help the government do that.
