The man who still claims the presidency of Samoa Red Cross says he and other members of the board have no need to misappropriate money.

Muagututagata Peter Ah Him has told TV One that their board consists of accountants, bank managers and doctors and all have money.

Muagututagata, who owns a major stationary company, and is an Associate Cabinet Minister, says he doesn't want money.

A large section of Red Cross members met last Friday and voted to sack

Muagututagata and five other board members over allegations of wrongdoing - one of which is misappropriation of funds.

But Muagututagata says the meeting was illegal and their opponents want control now Red Cross has changed from being a poor society to one with substantial international financial backing following last year's tsunami.
