The Solomon Islands Prime Minister Danny Philip and members of his coalition group yesterday mourned Steve Laore's sudden passing.
Mr Philip told the Solomon Star newspaper that the sudden death of Mr Laore is a huge loss to his family, constituency, the government and nation as a whole.
He says Mr Laore was an active member of his coalition group since his recent election and throughout the process of forming the government.
Arrangements are being made to send Mr Laore's body home to his constituency.
Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner, Peter Marshall, says there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death but a post-mortem will still be carried out.
