Former Manu Samoa coach's suit against rugby union goes ahead

7:24 pm on 31 August 2010

A lawsuit brought by the former Manu Samoa rugby coach, Aveau Niko Palamo, seeking more than 30 thousand US dollars from the Samoa Rugby Union will go ahead after mediation failed.

Mr Palamo is suing for breaches of his 3 year contract.

His lawyer, Leuluaialii Tasi Malifa, says the court had suggested mediation, but it had failed to resolve the matter and will go to court in October.

The lawyer says the decision to sever the contract was made by the union board, which is chaired by the Samoa Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sailele Malielegaoi.
