Meeting to be held on Fiji village by-laws

9:32 am on 17 September 2010

Fiji's Itaukei Affairs Board has prepared an amended draft on the proposed village by laws which include submissions from the 14 provinces.

The proposed by-laws are designed to combat unwelcome behaviour at the village level and include provisions over what women can wear and a curfew for young people.

Deputy Secretary for the Itaukei Affairs Board, Colonel Apakuki Kurusiga, tells FBC news a workshop will be conducted next month.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the proposed village by laws.
