Tautua Samoa claims broad support in election bid

3:08 pm on 23 September 2010

The Tautua Samoa party is set to get support from small political parties in next year's election.

A Tautua Samoa MP and former HRPP government minister, Palusalue Faapo II, has told reporters that Samoa Party and People's Party candidates as well as the political group Fa'amatai are supporting its campaign for a change of government.

He says candidates for all parties will be competing under the Tautua Samoa banner.

However several independent MPs, who were supporters of the Tautua Samoa, have decided to run for the ruling HRPP party in next year's general election.

Palusalue Faapo II says the move is disappointing but the party accepts the MPs' right to have a choice.
