Fiji has recorded the highest six-monthly total for visitor arrivals in about seven years.
Provisional data from the Bureau of Statistics show that cumulative to June this year, visitor arrivals totalled 273,160.
FBC News reports this is an annual increase of 21.6 percent - the highest six-monthly total recorded since 2003.
Persistent marketing and promotion by Tourism Fiji, and the introduction of new airline routes are expected to improve the figures further.
