Solomons and PNG hold border talks

2:00 pm on 29 October 2010

Senior officials from the governments of Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea have raised concerns about growing illegal activities along the border between the two countries.

The officials have just finished the 4th Joint Border Meeting in Gizo.

They say the illegal movement of people, boats and drugs across the border is worsening.

The officials say both nations' police need to step up their operations to manage and control these illegal activities.
