The Nadi weather office says tropical cyclone activity inside Fiji's area is expected to be average to just below average for the next season.

The Southwest Pacific tropical cyclone season officially starts on 1st of November and ends on 30th April next year.

The weather office tells FBC news that the current EL Nino southern oscillation conditions indicate a moderate to strong La Nina event which is likely to continue at least until at least early 2011.

The weather office says one to two tropical cyclones are expected to pass through the Fiji waters this coming season with one possibly reaching hurricane intensity.
