American Samoa prepares for Clinton stop-over

American Samoa is preparing for next week's brief visit by the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as she will fly from Australia to Washington winding up her 13-day tour of the Asia-Pacific region.

American Samoa's recently re-elected Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin says his team and the Governor's staff are getting ready for her visit.

It's great that she recognises the fact that American Samoa does make a contribution in our national interests. And I think my membership in the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House is indicative of that interest. I'm sure that American Samoa will be excited to receive the President's most senior member of his Cabinet and that is the Secretary of State. And I'm very happy that she's planning on coming to visit.

Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin says during her stopover it is likely Secretary Clinton will pay tribute to the territory's veterans and those affected by last year's tsunami.
