A Samoan police officer has admitted to one count of theft after being accused of breaking into the head of state's office and stealing an iPod.

The 23-year-old defendant, Aumua Marcus Hunt, had originally denied the charge but changed his not guilty plea when the trial was set to start last week.

The police officer was on duty at the head of state's office in July where he committed the crime.

He is awaiting sentence on November the 29th.
