Further delay over Vanuatu motion to suspend five opposition MPs

6:57 pm on 11 November 2010

There has been a further delay in Vanuatu over a government motion seeking to suspend five members of the opposition.

Parliament met but the deputy speaker, Philippe Boedoro, declined to say whether the motion was in order.

It is not immediately clear when it might be considered.

The standing orders allow the written motions to be debatted only on Tuesday and Thursday during an extra-ordinary and ordinary session of the parliament.
