The Samoa government has been challenged to stop business operations on Sunday.
The Reverend Elder of the Congregational Christian Church in Samoa, Eteuati Pasia, has directed the call to the acting Prime Minister, Misa Telefoni.
Reverend Pasia said other days of the week should be enough for business and food shopping but Sunday must be respected by everyone.
He said the result was people going straight to bed at the closure of businesses on Sundays and unable to attend church services.
A former MP, Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi, had made a similar call this year after he discovered several Asian business people in his constituency worked on Sunday.
