The Asian Development Bank has funded the establishment of a new electronic companies registry in Solomon Islands.

The new Company Haus will enable online registration of companies and the ADB says it will improve the efficiency of doing business.

Registrar Edwin Saramo says it will be a time saver and user-friendly and will mean that people in the provinces will be able to register their companies online.

The ADB's regional director, Eugene Zhukov, says it will ultimately make it easier for local people to conduct business in Solomon Islands.
