Manu Samoa to play Wallabies

12:38 pm on 22 December 2010

Manu Samoa's pre world cup schedule is filling up with a test against the Wallabies confirmed for July.

The Chief Executive of the Samoa Rugby Union, Sua Peter Schuster, says the match is a good opportunity to play against a tier one nation so close to start of the World Cup.

The Sydney test will follow the completion of the Pacific Rugby Cup in Japan and will see Samoa playing four games in 15 days, something Schuster is viewing as a positive.

"I think for Samoa that's probably a benefit to the Samoan team having those three games against Fiji, Tonga and Japan before heading down to Australia to play Australia. You know they're on the same par with the New Zealand All Blacks and South Africa and other top teams so we're really grateful to the Australia Rugby Union for affording that opportunity for us."

Sua Peter Schuster says they're still looking at playing one more Test match prior to the start of the world cup and hope to have that confirmed shortly.
