3:05 pm on 31 December 2010

The Samoa Government has plans to create a new parliamentary seat by splitting Faleata West after a substantial rise in the number of eligible voters living there.

This has been revealed by the current member for the seat, the associate minister for Works, Transport and Infrastructure, Ale Vena Ale.

Ale, who is a member of the ruling Human Rights Protection Party, says if the party retains the seat in the March general election, it will add a new seat, and a by-election will be needed.
