Tonga's new cabinet is today scheduled to hold its first meeting.

The Prime Minister Lord Tu'ivakano named his line-up last week although the ministers are not expected to be sworn in until next week.

In a statement, Lord Tu'ivakano says he is confident of achieving an appropriate level of national unity among the new ministers.

The proposed government includes six people's representatives, three nobles and two commoners chosen by the prime minister from outside the assembly.
