Four of the eight Vanuatu inmates who escaped from the maximum security section of the Port Vila prison have surrendered.
They managed to escape the day after Christmas when families were allowed to visit the prison.
The four still on the run were sentenced to prison for murder, theft, assault, rape and illegal entry.
The government has called on former police and soldiers from the Vanuatu Mobile Force to join in the hunt for the escapees.
