American Samoa's Governor Togiola Tulafono is to meet with the Fono leaders on Friday to inform them about his decision regarding cost cutting measures to meet the budget shortfall.
The Treasurer Magalei Logovii says though the governor was set to make an announcement about further cuts at today's cabinet meeting, he has decided to hold off until he informs the Senate President and House Speaker first.
Up to yesterday the Treasurer, Directors of Budget and Human Resources along with staff of the Governor's Office were still meeting on options to be presented to the governor.
Magalei says the governor has reached a decision and will discuss this with the Fono leaders first before making an announcement to the cabinet.
