New Fiji NGO plans reach-out to Pacific

A new NGO offering women's and family health services in Fiji is keen to expand its reach into other parts of the Pacific.

Medical Services Pacific was established late last year to fill the gap left by NGO Marie Stopes International withdrawing from Fiji.

MSP's Executive Director, Jennifer Poole, says while they've only just started out, once the programme is solidified in Fiji, they want to reach out.

"We're particularly keen to get up north, because there's very few NGOs working in the northern Pacific, and there's a huge need. Marshall Islands has the highest rates of teenage pregnancy in the world, and the adolescents up there are not getting access to a lot of the services and information."
