The manager of the Office of Motor Vehicles in American Samoa, Marie Ripley, has won her case against the government and been reinstated.
Mrs Ripley was officially terminated from her job last July after she was charged in connection with a scheme to produce American Samoan driver's licenses for foreigners using the birth certificates of American Samoans.
However, the charges were later dismissed after the court ruled that the statute appointing the Independent Prosecutor, who filed the case against her and the former Deputy Commissioner of Public Safety Mike Fuiava was unconstitutional.
A judge has now ruled that her dismissal from her job was invalid and disallowed.
Mrs Ripley is the wife of the Attorney General Fepuleai Afa Ripley Jr.
