Fiji Sugar Corporation to discuss industry reforms

1:31 pm on 19 January 2011

The Fiji Sugar Corporation board is meeting today to discuss ways to speed up reforms of the sugar industry.

The permanent secretary Lt Colonel Manasa Vaniqi says the focus is primarily on the organizational structure of the company.

Fiji Live reports him as saying while reforms are well underway while the mills are not operating, there is an opportunity to look at the organisational structure.

He says the meeting will also look at the divestment of the company's properties overseas.
