A damning report has been released in Vanuatu into alleged corruption in the Ministry and Department of Lands involving the current Minister of Lands Harry Iauko, former Lands Minister Maxim Carlot Korman, and former senior lands officials.

Tthe Daily Post newspaper says the former Director General of Lands Joe Ligo has sent a copy of the 50-page report to the Prime Minister, Mr Sato Kilman warning him that tension is still high over land deals that have gone through without the proper consent of custom land owners.

Mr Ligo says lands ministers have been giving out leases to investors and other parties who sell the land for millions of vatu, without any money going back to land owners.
