Fiji will play Samoa in a blockbuster quarter final this afternoon after a largely trouble-free start to their defence of the Wellington Sevens title.
New Zealand also displayed their title credentials in a day where Australia and England also finished unbeaten.

"Fiji and Samoa will renew their rivalry earlier than anticipated today after the defending World Series champions were outclassed by Australia in their final pool match. Fiji topped Pool D, despite drawing with South Africa, but coach Iliesa Tanivula says form counts for little at the business end of the tournament. In the other Cup quarter finals England face Argentina, Australia take on South Africa and New Zealand play Wales. Tonga play France in one Bowl quarter final, while Papua New Guinea and the Cook Islands clash in another."
Samoa believe they're still capable of winning despite a disappointing opening day at the Wellington Sevens.
The defending world series champions won their opening matches against Kenya and Tonga but were convincingly beaten by Australia 29-5 in their final pool game.
But coach Stephen Betham says they won't be dwelling on yesterday's results.
It's disappointing to lose but we're in the quarter finals. Today's a different day - go and refocus and come back today - it will be a different game today Doesn't matter who you play - play New Zealand, play Fiji, play Australia - same thing: just have to get up the next day and do it all over again.
Stephen Betham says captain Lolo Lui will be fit to play against Fiji, after he was sat out the final two pool matches after picking up a knock against Kenya.
