Fiji keen to move on from Wellington disappointment

11:28 am on 7 February 2011

Fiji sevens coach Iliesa Tanivula is preaching better patience and discipline after his side's early exit in Wellington at the weekend.

The defending champions were beaten by Samoa in the Cup quarter finals, and eventually went on to win the Plate title.

Iliesa Tanivula says he wants his players to control their emotions better and not rush things but says he doesn't intend to dwell on what could have been.

"Disappointing we dropped out of the cup quarters but that's the way rugby goes. I hope we learn from it but credit to Samoa - very experienced side. They bounced back after yesterday's loss but we've just got to take it and move on."

Despite their early exit Fiji held their fourth placing in the World Series standings, one behind series champions Samoa.

New Zealand and England are tied at the top on 64 points.
