The wife of an American Samoa police officer, who was killed last year, has been presented with a medal of honour by the American Police Hall of Fame.

Lieutenant detective Liusila Brown was shot dead in front of the High Court building last July by Siaumau Siaumau Jr. who is charged with first degree murder.

Today Lieutenant Brown's widow, Tumua, was presented with a package of medals by the territorial Police Commissioner Tuaolo Fruean.

They honored Lt. Brown as a U.S law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty.

Mrs. Brown was also presented with the hall of fame's flag and a cheque for an undisclosed amount.
