A tribunal has been established to hear misconduct allegations against Papua New Guinea's Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare.
A former Australian Federal Court judge Roger Gyles will chair the three-member tribunal, which will include New Zealander Sir Bruce Robertson and Sir Michael Robin Auld from the United Kingdom, who both now work in courts in the Pacific.
PNG's Chief Justice Sir Salamo Inja says the high profile case into allegations Sir Michael failed to lodge financial statements as far back as 20 years will start on March the 10th.
Sir Salamo says the Prime Minister has been informed of the appointment of the tribunal.
He says the tribunal has yet to determine whether Sir Michael will have to stand down as Prime Minister during the inquiry.
In December last year Sir Michael voluntarily stood aside to face the leadership tribunal but in January he resumed office saying he had been on holiday.
