The Papua New Guinea government is to donate more than one million US dollars towards relief assistance to Christchurch following the devastating earthquake there.
Papua New Guinea's prime minister, Sir Michael Somare, says the funding support was a small but sincere gesture of friendship and goodwill towards the government and people of New Zealand.
Sir Michael says from development assistance to support at various regional and international levels; New Zealand has also been a quiet but firm supporter of stability and peace in the region.
