Ken Tupua is the new president of the American Samoa National Olympic Committee.

He was elected unopposed by the 13 sport association members under the ASNOC umbrella and replaces the late Solaita Ben Solaita who passed away in January.

He says ASNOC's main priority is organizing the American Samoa team for the Pacific Games in August but they also need new facilities.

"We need to get something for our Olympic Committee headquarters and also a training facility and what needs to happen now is we as the NOC need to work closely with our Governor, Togiola, because most of the areas that are available now are under the government jurisdictions."

Ken Tupua says he sees his role with the Department of Parks and Recreation as a good opportunity to build a strong relationship between ANSOC and the Government.
