Bainimarama quip prompts Fiji call deluge

2:22 pm on 23 March 2011

Fiji's interim Prime Minister is struggling to keep up after recommending people call his office if they have concerns about government services.

FBC News gave out Commodore Frank Bainimarama's mobile phone number yesterday morning, so people could communicate their concerns directly to him.

A few hours later, the Commodore said he was so overwhelmed with calls , he could not get any other work done.

He is now urging people to email their concerns to his office.

And Commodore Bainimarama says people can text their concerns, and three senior officers are on stand-by to address their issues.
