Papua New Guinea has expressed support for Fiji's Strategic Framework for Change initiative.
PNG's Foreign Minister Don Polye says they also support the work carried out by the current government to reform Fiji.
Radio Fiji reports Mr Polye made the statement following a briefing of the Melanesian Spearhead Group Foreign Ministers on the progress of the framework.
The framework contains targeted outcomes drawn from the People's Charter.
Last year the framework's office told local media it will focus on economic and social development until 2012, and from political development from then until 2014.
The MSG's foreign ministers will meet today in Suva with the leaders' summit on Thursday.
PNG will be represented at that meeting by Mr Polye.
